Thom Browne Autumn/Winter 14 collection.

I saw these images and instantly thought of Miss Havisham. With the dark eyes and gaunt expression it is easy to see why. The dull tones of the makeup mirror the tones of the clothing. Also, the veil aspect of the hair caught my attention, subtle but modern, more of a fascinator then veil. The make-up itself has been molded to create the gaunt face and deep set eyes. I think that this represents Miss Havisham including the hair and the hair colour. The hair although not Victorian, looks like it is decaying; with strands falling down from either side, much like the hair of Miss Havisham would. I think that the hair style here is inspirational and has given me ideas on what I would like to achieve when I recreate Miss Havisham. The lighting here for the catwalk helped to bring out the gaunt look on the face. The lighting creates shadows which gives that haunting look teamed with the models icy glares! I simply love these looks. Thom Browne has definitely given me ideas and inspiration for my own makeup and hair look.
