Cruel French Pleat

The design above represents my idea of the word Cruel. I thought that this word would describe 'Estella', for the way that she acts around 'Pip'. The design is based on a French Pleat. (See how to create French Pleat in previous post). Instead of brushing the section of hair at the front back, I would back comb the hair to create volume at the front. This would then be pulled back to create a beehive look. 

 

I tried the design out on my dolls head, the result is above. I think that there could have been more volume at the front so there was less of a gap from the pleat to the volume. 

The pleat also needs to be tighter together to create more of a cruel finish. The sides could have been scraped back as I think that hair style also represents aspects of Cruel.
